The ABC's Of Kindergarten  

Standard 6a. Creates a learning community that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement, and self-regulation for every student.

Standard 6b. Establishes, communicates, models and maintains standards of responsible student behavior.

Justification: Sometimes, even in a classroom with clearly-defined expectations, there are students who are not able to master these expectations without additional interventions.  For students such as these, incentive charts, behavior plans,  and social skill instruction may provide a means to help these students be more successful in the classroom.  Below is an example of a behavior plan created for a student who was struggling to meet the classroom expections.
