The ABC's Of Kindergarten

Standard 1d.  Accepts and demonstrates responsibility for creating a classroom culture that supports the learning of every student.

Standard 1e.  Creates an environment of mutual respect, rapport, and fairness.

Standard 6e. Creates a safe and purposeful learning environment.

Justification:  Clear and well-understood expectations for the way the classroom will operate help to ensure that all students can and will learn to the best of their abilities.  This snapshot is of the classroom expectations for student behavior in my classroom.  Periodically throughout the entire year, we revisit this chart, discussing what each of the expectations looks like and sounds like in our classroom.  Students who are interfering with others learning are referred to this chart as a guide to making better choices.  Students also are able to have a visual reminder of the work time behavior expectations as they check the "stoplight".  Both of these behavior guidelines are posted at all times and referred back to continually.
