Standard 5e. Provides substantive, timely, and constructive feedback to students and parents.

Justification:  Email has become a form of communication readily used in my classroom as a way to reach out to parents and students in a timely manner.  At the beginning of the year, I share my email address with the families, ask if they would be willing to share their email addresses with me and if it is a communication tool that they would like used during the year.  If they agree, I will often send emails to let parents know of changes to my website, share progress of their student, or to share important information about school.  Many parents also will utilize emails as a way to gain answers to their questions about how best to help their child, like the emails below.
